Тeма: Сполучені Штати Америки
Цілі:
практичні: ознайомити учнів з визначними місцями США, вчити граматично правильно будувати речення використовуючи ЛО з теми, розвивати навички усного мовлення, читання;
розвиваючі: розвивати готовність до іншомовного спілкування;
виховні: виховувати інтерес до вивчення англійської мови.
Обладнання уроку: зошити,роздатковий матеріал,словники, компютер, проектор.
Тип уроку(за Ніколаєнко): спрямований на формування мовленнєвих навичок.

T: Today at the lesson we’ll travel. Some people like travelling, others don’t like travelling. There are different thoughts. Ground up the ideas.  Complete the sentences:

T:Today at the lesson we’ll travel to the USA. This is a very big and beautiful country.
Now listen to me and look at the slides. 
Presentation
(T demonstrates the slide and tells)
-           The United States of America is the fourth biggest country in the world. There are fifty states in it. Some of them aresmall, others are bigger, than a lot of countries. (Alaska). The population is 260 million people.
-           The flag of the USA is called ‘The Stars and Strips”. There are13 stripes and 50 stars.
-           The Mississippi-Missouri river is the third longest river in the world.
-           The largest city in the USA is New York. About 8 million people live there.
-           The second largest city is Los Angeles.
-           The third largest city is Chicago.
-     The capital of the USA is Washington DC. The president lives there, in the White House.

T:Now I’ll read you the text about the White House. You must be very attentive. After listening you’ll do the test.So, is it true or false?
1. George Washington was the first president to live in the White House.
2. The American president only works in the White House.
3. John Adams was the first to move into the White House.
4. The president and his family live on the first floor.
5. There are 132 rooms in the White House.
6. Visitors can tour all of the rooms in the White House.
7. The White House is located in the state of Washington.
c)     Speaking
T:Now I want you to make up dialogues.
Imagine that you are going to visit   the USA. You came to the travel agency and ask for advice. Put the dialogue into the right order.

-            Yes, you can. It is the strongest falls in the North America.
-            Yes, a lot of tourists visit it. There is a Rainbow Bridge (Веселковий міст) across the falls.

-            Can I visit the Disneyland?
-            Is it interesting there?
-            Yes, you can. This is a popular park for children in New York.
-             Yes, a lot of tourists visit it. Children can meet with heroes from all fairy tales.

-            What can I see there?
-            Can I visit the Statue of Liberty?
-            Where is it situated?
-            Yes, you can. It is one of the symbols  of the USA.
-                 It is situated on the   Bedloe’s Island (острівБедлоу)in New York. It is a present of French people to Americans.
-            You can visit a museum there.

-            What can I see there?
-            There is a big wood, rare animals, and in the center of the zoo there is a big pool of white Bear. It’s pool is made of glass.
-            You can visit the Central Park Zoo in New York..

-                Hello, I want to visit Hollywood. What will you advice?
-                There are stars with the names of famous people.
-                What can I see there?
-                You can visit Hollywood Walk of Fame (алея зірок).
